Your habits keep your tree alive.
Your friend's habits grow your roots.
A habit app for exactly two people.
What it is
Most habit apps are between you and a streak. Inosc is between you and one other person.
You each grow a tree. Showing up keeps your tree in leaf — and it grows their roots. Miss a few days and your tree turns amber and rests. It never dies, and nothing in the app scolds you.
After sixty days of you both showing up, the roots meet underground and fuse.
Inosculation
Two trees growing close enough will sometimes press together until their bark wears away, their tissue joins, and they begin sharing water and nutrients. From then on they are one organism with two trunks. It happens with roots, branches, whole trunks.
Botanists call it inosculation, from the Latin osculare — to kiss. People call them husband-and-wife trees.
It takes years, it can't be undone, and it only happens to trees that stayed close.
How it works
- Pick your habitsUp to five. One is your priority — the thing that matters most.
- Pair with one personSend them a code. One partner, not a feed. Nobody else can see any of it.
- Show upYour record keeps your tree in leaf. Theirs grows your roots, a day at a time, toward sixty.
Inosc isn't released yet. It's being built and tested. If you want to know when it opens, or you're just curious, write to hello@inosc.app.
